Hello friends, Over the last couple of weeks I've been up to some pretty cool things - last weekend we visited Portland, ME, yesterday I started the Moment Mentorship which I've been eyeing for over a year now, my client load is steadily increasing (shameless ad, but if you know anyone looking for training send them here!), and my training has been going extremely well! Plus, we're 100 days out from our wedding! While all of these incredible things are happening, I still occasionally find myself day-dreaming of other cool and exciting things to be doing. Or, more specifically that I can do in the future. That quote "comparison is the thief of joy" really does have a lot of truth behind it. If we all just sit here and look at what others have with envy, we won't get anywhere. I think some of the comparison is human nature - but only to an extent. There's a big difference between comparing yourself to someone or something from the lens that you'll never have that or get there and comparing from the lens that you can get there. Recently, as I was scrolling and day-dreaming, I stumbled across a video where a line really stuck with me - "build a life you don't want to escape". I wish I could remember where it was from because I'd share it, but this was really profound for me. So many of us just scroll and scroll wishing we had something or taking vacations to get away from our day-to-day lives. But what if you weren't always looking to the next thing? What if you were just as excited to get back from your vacations as you were to go on them? How do we make that happen? How do we build that life? Well, I think it starts by figuring out what you want. I truly believe that we are in control of a lot more than we think in our lives, so if you want something or you want your life to look a certain way, I think there's a way. While I'm also a big fan of manifestation, I fully acknowledge that manifesting alone won't get me there. I know that I'll have to put in the work, however that might look. I also fully understand that I might not like or enjoy some of it. But, I will also take the risk and bet on myself. Take content creation, for example. I know that I'll have to get on camera more and I dread that thought (let's all share a laugh at how uncomfortable I know I'll look over the coming weeks of that). However, I also know I'll get better with each piece and that my business will likely benefit a ton. That right there is the goal. I would bet that any of you reading this right now have some type of goal. Some might be fitness related, some travel, some life, and some might just be completely random. So I encourage you to do two things to help get you there:
Figure out what you want in life, bet on yourself, and build it. Until next time, Alli |
